Chances... Choices

Once you let people in, you take the good with the bad... and not just the good stuff...and once they let you in, allow them to see the bad stuff too and not just the good ones.

Once you decide to finally take a chance... to take all the risk--even if it might hurt you one day--you don't step back because you get scared... you step up and allow that courage within you to seep through your heart...

We don't always get the ending we want, but we could decide to make our beginnings worthwhile...

And when God gives you that thing you always pray for, remember to say THANK YOU, because he has given you that thing your heart has been longing for...

Strangers, again

I just saw this vid, as recommended by a friend a story or something and it hit me.
Those different stages in a relationship that some people says they go through are they really all the same?
If I were to make my own version of these stages it’s gonna go like this:
  1. 1.  Strangers
  2. 2.  Flirting
  3. 3.  Commitment
  4. 4.  Honeymoon
  5. 5.  Comfortable
  6. 6.  Tolerance
  7. 7.  <<choose your ending>>

It was mentioned that in every relationship, one of two things will happen: either they get married, or they break up. If someone doesn’t wanna marry, does it mean that they expect a break-up? Problem with some people nowadays is that, everyone’s scared to get hurt, but not all give it a shot—that thing called ‘Commitment’. Many always skip that part, and take it for granted when in fact it’s the most important thing in any relationship, plus all the other formulas attached with it.
Someone once said that, “we always get the same love story that we wanted.” I want to retaliate and say, how about those who fell in love and dreamt of ‘forever’? They don’t necessarily get their happy endings all the time. I also remembered someone saying, ‘when we enter a relationship, we always hope it’s gonna last.’ We don’t enter into a relationship and make a timeline for it… But every relationship has its bumpy roads, it’s strange that not everyone seems to be ready for it. When we get past those hurdles, we get stronger and wiser. And it’s true when they say that arguments are healthy because it opens up each individual to be heard and hopefully, understood. The thing is, not everyone takes these arguments in this light. Some even make it as a leeway to end things up.
For me, relationships are messy but having that someone who could understand you and accept you for everything that you are, and someone who could be there for you as long as it matters (and even if it doesnt anymore) someone who could make you feel happy deep down someone who could make you feel special and Loved in the most unselfish waysthat for me, is the greatest feeling in the world both a rewards and gift of which you would whole-heartedly treasure. How many appreciates happiness even when its not there in the surface?
It is true that somewhere in a relationship, someone stops trying something always changes and its always going hurt.
Strangers. They are of different kinds. Some of them are the lives you change, while some changes you. And there are also those who will remain to be a stranger in you.

Free Falling

Dear You;
When I first met you, you were really not my type. That all-seemingly-bad-boy-image you showed me was something I never thought I’d like. I don’t want someone whom I’d be able to talk to, and see for such limited time but somehow, your kindness and thoughtfulness put my guard behind the lines.
Who are you behind the words you spoke? You set my cold heart in a coal. You made me feel those kinds of emotions I evade now I couldn’t help it, I kinda feel soaked. You were there to push me at the edge of the cliff, saying “don’t be scared to fall”. But now when my heart and courage are set, you were nowhere to be seen; no one to catch me on my free-fall.
Love, you said you’d teach me how. I refuse to learn unless you show me how. Now that I’m alone with my shadows once again, I just seem to forget to thank you somehow. Even if you left me hanging there, those smiles you painted on my lonely days, I will keep them in my heart. Thank you for the friendship, and the courage you taught meI never thought I have them inside me.
When I take my feet off that cliff, I hope to see you there to catch me as I fall. If not, I pray fervently to the heavens, to give me wings instead so I may fly with the mighty eagles and soar. It’s time to embrace my freedom, with the courage I was taught… don’t be scared to fall, trust that there’s a cushion to every fall

Sincerely,
K.

P.S. I Love You

RADYO.

Disclaimer: photo not mine.
Ang puso ko, parang radyo. May switch, tuner at volume control. At ikaw ang paborito kong station.

Hmm. Radyo.

FALLING STARS.

I'm not looking for love. It will come, the way shooting stars lit up the skies.

I’m not waiting, nor expecting.
Not assuming nor engaging on anything.
Life has rules.
Falling in love has its rules.
I’ve got my own rules.
And once I get to that point, where rules are no longer rules,
And you become an exception to those rules,
Then that’s the time I can say, “Love has fallen” like the stars are falling.

Kids Define Love

A group of 4 to 8 year-olds were asked the question, “What does love mean?” Below are their answers. So pure and true. If you have your definition of love to add, please comment!

“When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn’t bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That’s love.” Rebecca- age 8

“When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouth.” Billy age 4

“Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other.” Karl age 5

“Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs.” Chrissy age 6

“Love is what makes you smile when you’re tired.” Terri age 4
“Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK.” Danny age 7
“Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more. My Mommy and Daddy are like that. They look gross when they kiss” Emily age 8
“Love is what’s in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen.” Bobby age 7
“If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate,” Nikka age 6 (we need a few million more Nikka’s on this planet)
“Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday.” Noelle age 7
“Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well.” Tommy age 6
“During my piano recital, I was on a stage and I was scared. I looked at all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling. He was the only one doing that. I wasn’t scared anymore.” Cindy age 8
“My mommy loves me more than anybody . You don’t see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night.” Clare age 6
“Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken.” Elaine-age 5
“Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford.” Chris age 7
“Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day.” Mary Ann age 4
“I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones.” Lauren age 4
“When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you.” Karen age 7
“Love is when Mommy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn’t think it’s gross.” Mark age 6
“You really shouldn’t say ‘I love you’ unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget.” Jessica age 8
And the final one Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia once talked about a contest he was asked to judge. The purpose of the contest was to find the most caring child.
The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife. Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman’s yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there. When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said, “Nothing, I just helped him cry”

I Will Stay

Disclaimer: photo not mine.

As time flies by
Even when the leaves wither
The winds blew its vigor
I’ll be by your side
Even when the colors turn grey
Life would still be gay
Because you’re there to bring hue to life everyday
Even when life seems weary
And some things don’t come by easily
I’ll be by your side
In life
Eventually
Some stays, some goes
Still
I’ll be by your side
Wherever the wind may take us
We’ll still be together
I’ll always be by your side
forever…

LOVE Actually IS…

What is Love?
probably, it is the most common question I often heard being asked. What is Love? What is it really?

I wanted to get its definition from various sources, but first lemme give you what I thought about love.

When you ask a child, what is love; they could give you innocent answersinnocent but humbling answers. But when I was a child, I thought love is something you get from family. Simple stuffs like when my papa would serve me my food on mealtimes or bring us pasalubong when he arrives home, or when mama would wake me up in the morning and accompany me at school, or when my lola would cook a delicious meal for us, or when my aunt would clean us up in the afternoon after an entire days playits about caring. When I was a child, when people care for each other, I believe they love each other.

When I was in high schooladolescent years, I believed that love is when you found someone and have special, if not intimate, relationship with them. Even as a freshman, whenever I see those couples in the higher years holding hands while walking, talking, sitting, eatingI believe they are together because there is love. The sense of belongingnessthe concept of love I learned to believe from those couples lingering in our campus. That sense that somehow your hands fit into someone elses and they kinda felt as onethat somehow, you belong in someone elses lifeand that felt special in a way.

When I met my girlfriends in high school, a newand betterconcept of love was build: Friendship. The joy and value of camaraderie with genuine laughter, honesty and sincerity in a crowd of once been called strangers, has given me a new definition of love. That love is something that is established through timeit cannot be found overnight. It is something that can be polished through the test of time. Its when people stick with each other through thick and thin, and accepts you for who you areand most importantlyfor whom youre not.

I was also in high school when I met my God. I mean, Ive known Him ever since I was a child, for I go to church on Sundays with my family. But this time, Ive known Him much deeper. Its like the first time you were introduced to someone you get to know his name, but then as days go by you get to know the person behind that namesomething like that. The Love of Godis my best definition of love, because God Himself is Loveand my Friendship with Him is the best thing I ever got from high school. More than the learning, fun, memories, and more friendships, its being friends with God is the best achievement I have in my adolescent years, and proud to say that its something thats gonna last beyond this lifetimethe Love of God: its for eternity, its boundless, selfless, unconditional, most pure, most precious.

When I was a sophomore at college, our speech professor asked us to describe the color red to a congenitally blind person. Usually, the color red symbolizes love, but I didnt include it in my definition of the color red. For me, red is a color of passion, of strength, bravery, and warmth. Love, on the other hand, is the color of whiteof purity, gentleness, and fidelity.

Whenever I watch movies, I get to learn more definitions of love. That love is something we go searching for. Its like a quest for some people. Like a chase in search for their happinessyes, thats it: love for most, if not all people equates to happiness. The thing is, everyone believe that it can only be found on someone else, or something else. Love is lost for some people, and they go for a pursuitLove: its like a treasure crest in the middle of the cosmic sea: it is difficult to be found, but sure is worth the quest in the end. And sometimes, it could surprise us when we found out that the one thing weve been searching for is actually right there inside us.

Love is companionship. Whenever I see old-aged couple in the church, or in the restaurants, or simply along the streets walking side by side and sometimes holding each others handsit melts my heart. They are a testament that love could endure the test of time. My parents once said that their gray hair represents all the years they have lived their livesall the struggles, perseverance, hardships, and most importantly their achievementsthats why they wouldnt want it dyedbecause it symbolizes a fully-lived life. And I believe thats true. Over the years a lot of things happena lot of thing changesbut love, though, is something that endures all things even if all the others may fail. And I always pray that one day, when all my parents hair have turned gray, I would still see them sitting side by side watching the evening news and hugging each other to sleep. It always put anyones heart at ease when they know that someone is right there beside them with each passing daya companion.

As a nurse, I believed that love could be given to strangers as well. Its when you hold their hand and tell them (and believe in yourself) that its going to be alrightthat whatever pain they may be feeling will eventually go away. Its when you tell them to eat healthy so they could be home with their family and have a meal with them. Its when you check on them every now and then to make sure theyre doing well. You know you have given love when your patient would sincerely smile at you and say thank you after your shift. Heartfelt gratitude is something you cant fake, and its something you couldnt easily give either. When you love your work, you tend to enjoy it and be better with itand most importantly, people gets to appreciate it as well. And when people appreciate it, they will remember you, and things like thatsimple thingsthat could actually make you valuable, even with the small piece of heaven given to you. Love is something that isnt easy to giveespecially to people you barely knowsbut as they say, when your glass is full it overflows.

Love is a sacrifice. We often underestimate or overestimate the extent of what we can do in the name of love. Loves prowess pushes us to go beyond our own limits, and it often takes courage to conquer our own limitations. It takes courage to sacrifice what is most precious to us for loves sake. It takes courage to love.

Love is a miracle. Love is faith. It can make you a better personit allows you to feel like a better person. It takes a miracle to change a personand love is a miracle and by loves faith it allows miracles to work in us. Some things we dont expect to feel, to do, to happen in our life. When you love, it changes your life.

ONE IN SIX BILLION

There are six billion people in the world
Six billion lives
Six billion souls
Six billion hearts that beat rapidly, slowly, each millisecond of the time
In that six billion, sometimes, we only need one
We only need one soul
One heart
In this one lifetime
One in six billion, to make a difference in our life
One in six billion, to make our heart skip a beat
One in six billion, to fall in love with.
One in six billion, to spend the rest of our lives with.
There are six billion people in the world
Six billion lives
Six billion souls
Six billion hearts that beat rapidly, slowlykeeping us alive
In that six billion, we search for that one person for us
And among that six billion, someone is out there looking for us
There is this someone wholl come and find us

Crazy Little Thing called Love (aka First Love) Trailer High Quality

This Thai movie stars Mario Mauer (P'Shone) and Fern (I guess that's her name...i apologize coz I suck with doing research). Anyway, upon watching this movie, it reminded me of the American movie counterpart...FLIPPED... The story goes by the same theme... A naive girl falls in love with the popular guy (and a very good looking one)...girl is a wallflower then becomes the unexpected princess...guys falls in love with the girl in the end, and story hangs in there. this Thai movie though, is funnier, and at the end of the story guy turns out to be secretly in love with girl all along. P'nam (Fern) confesses her love, they got separated, then met again after 9 years. In Flipped, girl and boy were neighbors...girl expresses her admiration with the guy from the start, but guy ignores her...then day comes when the guy finally realized that he, too, is in love with the girl, but apparently girl becomes uninterested with him already...so now, he has to work hard to win the girl, thanks to that sycamore tree which made a bridge of opportunity to lit another spark for them.

These stories of unrequitted love were born in a very young age, until it grew and blossomed into somethng wonderful and pleasant to share. What is love anyway?? Well, I guess it takes different forms, and makes up a beautiful story and brings about beautiful characters...some people go crazy about it, becomes stupid becomes ecstatic, and most of the time, brings out the best in anyone. That-love-thing...it can break a heart, but still the best remedy for one. It's workings, no one can quite understand, unless felt and shared..

THE INVITATION

By: Oriah Mountain Dreamer

Disclaimer: photo not mine.

It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living.
I want to know what you ache for, and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing.
It doesn’t interest me how old you are.
I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love, for your dream, for the adventure of being alive.
It doesn’t interest me what planets are squaring your moon.
I want to know if you have touched the center of your sorrow, if you have been opened by life’s betrayals or have become shriveled and closed from fear of further pain!
I want to know if you could sit with pain, mine or your own, without moving to hide it or fade it, or fix it.
I want to know if you can be with joy, mine or your own, if you can dance with wildness and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes without cautioning us to be careful, to be realistic, to remember the limitations of being human.
It doesn’t interest me if the story you are telling me is true.
I wan to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself, if you can bear the accusation of betrayal and not to betray your own soul; if you can be faithless and therefore trustworthy.
I want to know if you can see beauty even if it’s not pretty every day, and if you can source your own life from its presence.
I want to know if you can live with failure, yours and mine, and still stand on the edge of the lake and shout to the silver of the full moon, “Yes!”
It doesn’t interest me to know where you live or how much money you have.
I want to know if you can get up, after the night of grief and despair, weary and bruised to the bone, and do what needs to be done to feed the children.
It doesn’t interest me who you know or how you came to be here.
I want to know if you will stand in the center of the fire with me and not shrink back.
It doesn’t interest me where or what or with whom you have studied.
I want to know what sustains you, from the inside, when all else falls away.
I want to know if you can be alone with yourself and if you truly like the company you keep in the empty moments…

Just Wanna Ask..

Disclaimer: photo not mine.
How do you know if it’s real?

Does it matter, to know what the other person feel?

How do you withstand a fight?

Do you know that your instincts might be right?

When can you see the truth that hid behind a lie?

Do you believe that most love stories are tragedies?

Do you believe that sometimes, it’s simply not meant to be?

Do you believe in miracles?

Or would you rather believe that most times, it’s just a mere coincidence?

Who are you behind a mask?

Does it matter if you can’t be beautiful from the outside?

Where were you 5 years ago?

Who would you be ten years from now?

Do you matter in some other’s life?

Are you just by yourself most of the time?

Is life too short to live?

Or you’re just too scared of the real life there is to breathe?

How does your heart beat?

Is love, when it dies, the hardest thing to revive?
